Here's a little cheat sheet especially helpful when creating oil blends and homemade balms highly effective during haying season. I am also including a couple of recipes that really worked for me!

Tarragon Oil (Artemisia dracunculus)

  • Has anti-histamine, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antimicrobial, antispasmodic, and antioxidant properties
  • Reduces airborne bacteria

  • Has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and skin softening qualities
  • Treats symptoms of sinusitis
  • Relieves the itching and swelling

Niaouli Oil (Melaleuca quinquenervia)

  • Has excellent immunostimulant and restorative properties
  • Supports the respiratory system
  • Works great as air-purifier during allergy season

Eucalyptus Radiata Oil

  • Has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties
  • Opens up the lungs and sinuses

  • Clears sinuses and reduces congestion

Best Essential Oil Blend To Diffuse

  • 1/3 Niaouli Essential EO (find it here: US / UK / Canada)
  • 1/3 Eucalyptus Radiata EO (find it here: US UK / Canada)
  • 1/3 Lemon EO (find it here: US / UK / Canada)

How to use: diffuse 3 times per day for about 20 minutes


Antihistamine Balm for Natural Allergy Relief

  • 1 tbsp Beeswax Pellets (find it here: US / UK / Canada)
  • 1 tbsp Coconut Oil (find it here: US / UK / Canada)
  • 1 tbsp Tamanu Oil (find it here: US / UK / Canada)
  • 10 drops Tarragon EO (find it here: US / UK / Canada)
  • 10 drops Niaouli EO (find it here: US / UK / Canada)
  • 5 drops Chamomile Roman EO (find it here: US / UK / Canada)

Instructions:

  1. Melt beeswax pellets and coconut oil using a double boiler.
  2. Let it cool down a little bit before adding the rest of the oils.
  3. Stir gently and pour the mix into a small balm container when it is still liquid.
  4. Let it cool before using. It is ready!

How to use it: rub on chest, neck, or just under nose for immediate relief and as regularly as needed.
